Thornapple Main Floor

Situated above the Thornapple River in Ada, Michigan, this kitchen renovation was designed to bring more of the outdoors in. The original space lacked natural light, had a poorly positioned island, and felt cramped and disconnected. To address these issues, we reoriented the kitchen, opened the room, and allowed more light through the existing main window, adding an additional window over the new sink area.

The final layout features a large rectangular island for ample workspace and bar seating, while the dining table was relocated to a more central position. A lighter color palette, complemented by wood elements, enhances the natural light and ties the design together. This renovation exemplifies the efficient use of space, blending functionality with a connection to the surrounding nature.
